Dutch cafe behind
the royal palace for
Dam Square,
A great place to view the world
go and see how Amsterdam
unfolds while you enjoy
our friendly service and

THE STORY
With Dam square as the centre of Amsterdam only a couple
of metres away, our café is inseparably connected with the
history of this beautiful capital. Through the years, this corner building has had multiple faces. It started - like many Amsterdam bars and restaurants - as a shop, after that it was rebuilt as a café, and eventually in the nineties it was turned
into the Amsterdam cafe we know today.
So, through time Café van Daele has secured its spot,
making it a name in the neighbourhood.
After opening in the late nineties, it has become a second living room for many. Guest have come and gone, and a couple of regulars just kept returning.
This is how we’ve built a fine, mixed group
of regulars, which consists of amongst others ;
students, (former) employees, people willing to
chat and the ever-returning tourist.
Due to the unique character of the classic café
in the heart of Amsterdam people find their way to
us time and again. Café van Daele,
the cosy classic café at the corner behind the
Royal Palace at Dam square.
Hopefully we’ll see you soon!
